A mandrill male gazes from the shadows. Done on scratchboard with ink colorization. Scratchboard is a panel of kaolin clay covered with black india ink. The artist uses a variety of instruments to scratch her design into the panel. This piece is signed with the artist's pseudonym, Swifti, but has her full name on the reverse. The artwork has been varnished with a matte finish, and is framed in a simple black floater panel frame with sawtooth hanger. There is no glazing, as none is require nor recommended for scratchboard panels.
